Charge Bikes Team - Mike Smith's first outing - Vienna Air King
Mike's first comp on his new Charge Titanium Blender came only a week after he picked it up! The Vienna Air King is an annual dirt contest that attracts some of the biggest names in dirt riding including Benny Korthaus, Sam Pilgrim and Trond Hansen. A field of 40 riders invited from all over the globe lined up on the Saturday for qualifying for just 15 places in the final. Mike put in two consistant runs with a couple of flips and a 360 table to qualify 6th. Come the final and level of riding got higher and higher. Mike put in some great tricks and finished up 8th overall. Here's what Mike had to say about his final run, "Last chance now and final run, I dropped in and did a HUGE flip table over the first, tuck no hand the second and a 360 table over the last. I was pretty happy but nervous as everyone rode so well, The results were called and I managed to get 8th overall. All in all a great first trip on the Charge team" Mike's off to Milan next for the Nissan Qashqai Urban Challenge where he hopes to quailfy for the finals and be up against invited riders like Paul Basagotia and the Lacondeguy brothers. Check out Mike's blog on the team pages of the Charge Bikes website for a full lowdown on the weekends events and what he's up to next. www.chargebikes.com The Charge Bikes Team is sponsored by: WESC clothing, Oakley, Rockshox, X-Lite, Crank Brothers, Troy Lee Designs, SRAM, Muc-Off, Avid, Truvativ, Met, Circa Shoes, Hotwheels, Dirt Worker, Smart, Tacx and Fuse.
